All links to external domains will receive a nofollow attribute by default. This will make sure people do not spam your forum with links to other domains in order to get more referrals.
With this setting you are able to add domains to the do-follow list. For example, you can add flarum.org to make sure links to this website do not receive a nofollow attribute.
When would I use a do-follow link?
You can use do-follow links for sites you trust or place yourself, company websites or anything else you want.
Examples
If you want to add a domain to the do-follow list, enter the hostname of the domain. Do not add the www subdomain or https://.
For example, if you want to add https://www.v17.dev to the list:
- ❌ Do not enter
www.v17.dev
- ✅ Enter
v17.dev
Is there a limit?
There is no limit of domains you can add to the list. But everything is saved into the settings table of Flarum. We do not encourage to add too many domains as it will probably slow down the rendering. The formatter will try to match any link found in a discussion with the do-follow list.
